Bale de rale
Saryne started a ballet project called "Bale da Rale" because, as she puts it, "dance saved my life, and when dance saves your life, you pay it forward."
Starting during the pandemic when opportunities for young people and children in vulnerable communities were even scarcer, Bale da Rale and Saryne began by giving classes in the local square twice a week.
Working with them from day one, Bale da Rale now offers over six daily activities for young people and children, tutoring, meals, and support for parents and families. They have secured a space and are building a new headquarters for their project. Additionally, they have won multiple grants and awards, established a sustainable commerce branch to their work, and now work for SEJA as representatives in the area for new partners.
This is what SEJA does. Through the professional development program, SEJA 'powers' local change-makers and their impact, helping them grow and find autonomy. Bale da Rale was there before a partnership with SEJA and now has tools to continue long after it ends.
